DPIL

Welcome to DPIL. The Danish National Institute of Pest Control (Statens Skadedyrslaboratorium) has been closed down. Nevertheless, here you have an opportunity to read the new version. Pestium.dk is available in its entirety in 5 languages. Following the latest update, you can now also read Henri Mourier’s articles in English. Several translations of DPIL will follow, including translations into German, Norwegian and Swedish.

This website covers the most important books written by Henri Mourier and Thorkil Hallas. The book “Pests in the house and home” was originally called “Wild animals in the house and home” and was published in several languages around Europe. Thus, this particular book is available in danish, Swedish, Norwegian, German, French, Dutch, Spanish and of course in English. The books “Pests in food” and “Bed bugs – Stings and itching” are published in Danish, English, Norwegian, Swedish and German. We are also working on adding Dutch, Spanish and French. The books have for many years served as reference works – and to this day are used by professionals to identify pests.

Adding DPIL here is a natural extension of Henri Mourier’s great authorship. Henri worked for many years at the Danish National Institute of Pest Control (Statens Skadedyrslaboratorium), where he, among other things, produced a large number of texts that accurately described and defined pests.

The many articles published under the auspices of DPIL are information for citizens on how to identify pests and how to carry out pest control. The texts here are accompanied by beautiful illustrations drawn by Ebbe Sunesen and Susanne Weitemeyer, who are two of Denmark’s absolutely best illustrators of insects.
